Cumberland Dukes House League Announcement

To the Membership of the Cumberland Dukes
 
On Saturday January 30, 2016, a motion was passed at the annual Gloucester Hockey Association Presidents' meeting, that would not permit associations from outside of the Gloucester Hockey Association (GHA) – District 9 to participate in their house league starting with the 2016-2017 season and onward.
 
The impact to our Dukes teams for the remainder of this season is none.
 
All teams will continue with the remainder of their season for regular games and play-offs as well as any other league administration.
 
The rationale for this motion is that the Gloucester Hockey Association (GHA) is growing with its own membership, and to continue to administer a league of this size, having the Cumberland Dukes participate is becoming administratively difficult.
 
The executive of Cumberland Minor Hockey will now begin to look at our options for next season.
 
We appreciate your patience as we work through this and come up with a plan for next year.
