Tournament Champions - Cumberland Dukes Midget A2

The Dukes went undefeated in Peterborough this last weekend.  Finishing second of 24 teams in the round robin the Dukes went on to strong competition in the quarter finals defeating East Nipissing 3-1 to move on to the semis.  The team had to get through first place Richmond Hill to qualify for the gold medal round and skillfully defeated them 4-1 in a hard fought low penalty game. 

To win the trophy the Dukes came up against the gritty Six Nation Blackhawks.  Six Nations took 28 minutes in penalties to end up on the losing side of the contest 4-2.
  
In the six games played on the weekend the Dukes scored 28 goals, allowing only 5 against.  We enjoyed two penalty free games.  We represented our association well with clean sportsman like, hardly fought low penalty games.
 
The Dukes are enjoying a great season. Of the total 48 league, tournament and exhibition games played to dates we have won 32, tied 6 and lost 10.  We are currently in 1^st place in the D3 league.
