Jr Grads Tryouts Update

Dear Cumberland Minor Hockey Family,

As I promised all of you at the AGM, communication was an area I was strongly committed to improving and all of us involved in the administration of the Jr Grads program are striving to achieve that goal.  In addition to the CMHA website we are actively using social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter to relay information to all of you in a timely manner.

I would like to make you aware of some changes in how tryout communications will work this year.  Rather than posting rosters and releases by number to the CMHA website we are taking a more proactive approach to communicating with you and will be adopting procedures similar to those used by other minor sports programs.  Throughout the tryout process staff will communicate with all players (parents) trying out for a Jr Grads team through email.  This will include who is dressing for an upcoming event as well as notification of release, thus relieving the stress of late nights refreshing the website.  I believe that since you as parents and your young athlete committed the time to participate in the Jr Grads tryout process, the least the Jr Grads staff and Coaches can do is take the time to notify you individually by email if you are being released from tryouts.  Those players continuing with the tryout process will be posted to the CMHA website by name in accordance with the scheduled release dates assigned to each level.

The Jr Grads tryout process this year will be quite lengthy with the staggered start dates of each level due to the Pathways for U9 & U11, as well as the later than normal releases for U18AAA.  Below you will see the start date of each level, please note the U9 through U11 date is the non-evaluated development ice formal evaluations for this level will not begin before 11 Sept 21.
           
            U9 & U10 – 7 September 21;
            U11 – 8 September 21;
            U12 – U15 – 28 August 21; and
            U16 & U18 – TBD (projected to be third week of September).

All registered participants will receive an initial communication from the Coach not less than 72 hrs before the first scheduled session.  If you are registered and do not receive communication by then, or if you have pressing questions please contact us at grads_convenor@cumberlandminorhockey.ca. Please note the email address we will be using for communication is the one for which the player was registered in HCR 3.0. You should also check your spam/junk folders as sometimes mass communications may be flagged and sent there.
