The U15 B Jr. Grads earned a hard fought second place finish at the Capital Blues Hockey Fest tournament held this past weekend at the Richcraft Sensplex. After going 1-1-1 through the round robin, which included an emergency building evacuation towards the end of their third game, the Jr. Grads went on to win their quarterfinal game on Saturday night advancing them to Sunday's semi finals. The Jr. Grads won their semi final game against one of the top teams in the league with a decisive 6-0 victory to earn their spot in the finals.
They fought hard in the championship game against another top team in the league which ended in a 1-1 tie after regulation. Five minutes of 3 on 3 solved nothing, so off to a shootout they went. In the end they came up just short in the shootout, with the Leitrim Hawks taking the championship. The team battled hard all weekend and this was a great way to kick off the 2023-24 season!
