Dukes Player Retirement Program
Click HERE to access the online application form
PURPOSE:
A retirement gift for players in the Cumberland Minor Hockey Association house league (recreational division) upon completion of their playing career will acknowledge their dedication and contribution to the Cumberland Dukes.
RECOGNITION GIFT:
Eligible players will receive a personalized sweater/jersey with the Dukes logo and colours.
PROCEDURE:
Eligibility: To be eligible to apply for a retirement gift upon completion of their playing career, players must be in good standing and have played with the Cumberland Dukes for a minimum of nine (9) years, commencing at the Novice/U9 level.
Eligible players can be:
- Any U21 player. This is not necessarily limited to third year players, but must be a player who will not return to CMHA the following year; or
- A U18 player in the third year of the U18 division who declares his/her intent to not return to play at the U21 level. If, due to unforeseen circumstances, the player does return to play, the player will not be entitled to receive a second gift upon completion of U21 play.
APPLICATION:
Eligible players are to complete the application form requesting the recognition gift (Receipt of the gift is not automatic). A player must elect to receive the gift.
The completed application form must be submitted by February 28 2023
All applications will be forwarded to the Executive Committee for final approval. With the exception of U21 players who are no longer eligible to play for the Cumberland Dukes, if the player did not apply for the gift in the current season, but does not return for the following season, a completed application form must be received by March 1 of the following season if he/she wishes to be considered for recognition.
EXCEPTIONS:
Any request for exceptions to the rules for eligibility will be initiated by the player and directed to the VP Admin. A written explanation of why an exception is requested should be sent to vp_admin@cumberlandminorhockey.ca
QUESTIONS:
Questions should be sent to vp_admin@cumberlandminorhockey.ca
